1. John Perrot was born in 1550 and died in 1603 in London at age 53.
General Notes: -- Merchant of London
[PSOC-1988-5(3);76-79-Additional-Data-Since-Barnwell's-Perrott-Notes] has son Richard being 23 in 1607, meaning he was b ca 1584. This means that his most likely parents would be Robert and Elinor Perrot from Worcestershire, who had a son John baptised in 1550. This John would then be right age to father Richard.
Other possibilities on his parentage are:
- PSOC 2003. Barnwell reported John to be another son of Robert and Isabell Langdall Parrott of Oxford.
- A nephew of the above Robert, from an undocumented brother
- The John who is mentioned in the 1571 will of Rhys Perrott, son of Sir Owen
- A Roger Perret from Luton, Bedfordshire, who mentions sons John and Humphrey in his 1535 will
John married Anne.
The child from this marriage was:

What was Lombard street like 63 years later?
"..was narrow and twisting, and lined with great Elizabethan and medieval houses three and four stories high, crowned with richly worked jetties and casements projecting above a forest of painted and gilded signs. There were more fine houses in the streets and alleys running north and south of Lombard Street, the financial heart of the city, where the wealthiest men of the land had residence ." General Notes: Thoresby 1715 gives her surname as Harris. Later repeated by Barnwell and Parke, 1860. Her will mentions 'my brother Mr. Charles Vaux,' so the possibility needs to be considered that her maiden name was Vaux until more solid documentation can be obtained.

"It is rather remarkable, that of the regular parochial clergy in York, not one laid down his preferments, in consequence of the provisions of the Act of Uniformity. The four ministers, whom Calamy reports to have been silenced at that city, Messrs. Bowles, Perrot, Williams, and Calvert, had been appointed during the Protectorate, to officiate in turns, at the Minster and other churches, , and were maintained by the state with honourable stipends; the work was equally divided between them; two were at the Minster, on Lord's days for a month; and two at All-hallows in the Pavement, for the other month, alternately."
"Richard Perrot B.D.* was a most learned, ingenious man, and an incomparable preacher. After his ejectment he lived some time with Dr. Robinson of Barniston, where he studied and practised physic with good success. "By the turn of the century [1700] York Alderman Andrew Perrrot was prepared to spend £300 to bind his son to a London Barbary merchant rather than seek to train him locally, thus revealing an informed concern at the future of of the town's oversease trade. 84.
84. Borthwick Institute, prerogative will, Nov. 1702. Little evidence has been found concerning the cost of mercantile apprenticeship at York, although a legal dispute from 1660s records taht the merchant Robert Hilary had been paid £100 for binding Timothy Hawksworth. The dispute suggests that York's failure to train new recruits can in part be linked to the familiar problems of indiscipline among the young- York City archives F8, p 161.

Probably R. of Stone, Staffs., 1744. Perhaps chaplain in the Navy 1744-5. Died at Pershore, Worcs., Dec. 13, 1790, ated 79. Will, P.C.C. But according to E.L. Barnwell this was Andrew (a cousin), s. of Charles, Lord Mayor of York. The similarity of names and age makes identification difficult. (Duc. Leod., 72; E.L. Barnwell, Perrot Notes, 107.)
Identification of Andrew's wife's maiden name is based on the will of Rebecca Holman, spinster of Tenterden, Kent -1775. In the will she refers to her niece the wife of the Rev Andrew Perrott and later to Curteis Hale and Sarah Hale her children by her late husband the Reverend William Hale. Curteis Hale went on to witness Andrew's wife. (Thanks to Libby Richardson for the tip).
