This is another of the African-American families that appeared after the Civil War, and like most such families, is extremely poorly documented. In this case, there is reason to believe that Solomon from the 1870 census and Simon from the 1880 census are one and the same; though this conclusion is by no means certain. Assuming Simon and Solomon are the same person, this family orginated in South Carolina and moved first to Bradford, then to Alachua counties in Florida, before moving on to Putnam county and to the Miami area, where the descendants are today. The family, tree is very much incomplete, so make sure to verify the information before using it. Interestingly, there were two white Parrott families in South Carolina before the Civil War. They were unrelated to each other, but one did use the name Simon (family #046) and the other Solomon (family #063a) in the Catalog of American P-rr-tt Families.
