Notes: Robert G. Parrott, 80, of Hurricane, Utah, died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born June 23, 1920, in Flint, Mich. A former Henderson resident from 1964 until 1994, he was a retired sheet metal maintenance worker at the Nevada Test Site, a member of the Silver State Riders and Gold Wing Road Riders.
He is survived by three daughters, Merna Wright of Hurricane, and Mary Patterson and Donna Martinez, both of Henderson; three sons, Paul Parrott of Pahrump, Danny Parrott of Las Vegas and Richard Hess of Henderson; one sister, Myrna Simpkins of Marshall, Mich.; two brothers, Donald Parrott of Jackson, Mich., and William L. Parrot of Parma, Mich.; 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty M. Parrott; two children, Jeffrey M. (Cynthia) of Jackson, and Pamela S. Parrott of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Shannon, Eric, and Sarah Parrott, all of Jackson; brother, William (Lorraine) Parrott of Parma, MI; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Marshall, Maynard, Robert and Darrell Parrott; sister, Merna Simpkins; and niece, Laura (Parrott) Atherton. Donald was a 1942 graduate of Parma High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He was a 1956 Jackson Business University graduate. Donald earned a Business Degree from Jackson Community College in 1972 and served as President of the J.C.C. Alumni Association. He earned his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration in 1975 and Masters Degree in Secondary Education in 1977 from Siena Heights. He was employed with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in various capacities, working six years in France and retiring after 44 years of service. After retiring, he served 12 years as Jackson County Commissioner. He was a charter member and past President of the Jackson Cascades Lions Club, District Governor of Lion's Club from 1989 to 1990, member and past President of Inter-Service Club Council, and Cascades Falls and Sparks Museum Chairman and a member of the Masonic Lodge #50. He received a 32 degree Mason in Paris, France. He was also a 54-year member of First United Methodist Church where he attended faithfully. He spent over 50 years in Scouting and was active in getting the work on Falling Waters Bike Trail started in 1992. Memorial services will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Friday, September 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Edward Ross officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Donald married Betty Marie Thurston in 1946. Betty was born on 8 Mar 1928 in Williamsport, Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania and died on 13 Oct 2023 in Jackson, Jackson Co., MIchigan, at age 95.
Notes: Betty Marie Parrott, 95, of Jackson, Michigan, peacefully passed away on October 13, 2023. She was born on March 8, 1928, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, to the late Maynard E. Thurston and Norma L. Thurston. Betty was a devoted wife, loving mother, and dedicated homemaker.
Betty was an exceptional conversationalist who truly enjoyed connecting with people. She had a warm and welcoming personality that made her a joy to be around. Betty found great fulfillment in her volunteer work, generously giving her time and energy to organizations such as Love Inc., Foote Memorial Hospital, and Meals on Wheels.
Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jackson, Michigan, where she found solace and strength in her faith. Her involvement in the church community brought her a sense of belonging and purpose.
Betty leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Parrott, daughter-in-law, Cynthia Parrott, granddaughter, Shannon Parrott, grandson, Eric Parrott, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Parrott, son, Jeffrey Parrott, granddaughter, Sarah Parrott, sister, Helen Keydets, sister, Marjorie Murray, brother, Maynard E. Thurston Jr., and brother, John L. Thurston.

Notes: Laverne William "Bill" Parrott, lifelong resident of Parma, passed away November 19, 2022 age 94 years. Mr. Parrott was the son of Albert and Pearl Parrrott. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Lorraine. Surviving are three children; Jim (Peggy) and their son Ryan (Courtney) Parrott, Diana (John) Midgley and their children, Kelly (Michael) Sheppard, and John (Nicole) Midgley, Brad (Vicki) Parrott and their children, Cory (Melissa) Parrott, and Wendy (Chad) Lowder, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by eight brothers and one sister.
He retired from Tompkins-Johnson after 28 years of service, President of the Campbell Cemetery Association, Member of the Parma Chapter of the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs. He loved playing cards, enjoyed golf and traveling. Mr. Parrott is at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Parma where services will be held Friday November 25, 2022 at 1:00pm, Michael D. Lorraine loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and bowling. She was loved by many and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Lloyd Ray Parrott, 41, long active as a volunteer in the Pennfield Fire Department, the township's rescue squad and in the promotion of safety, died unexpectedly at 7:35 a.m. today from the recurrence of a heart ailment, at his home 11587 O Drive N.
When stricken, Mr. Parrott was about to enter his car to drive to the Oliver Corp. plant where he was chief guard of the plant protection force. He had been hospitalized for two weeks, but had returned to work yesterday.
Memberships Listed
Mr. Parrott was also a member of the Calhoun Fire Fighters Association, a director of the Pennfield Rescue Squad, and the Metropolitan Club and the Oliver Management Club. He held memberships in the Convis Union Methodist Church and the Convis Men's Club. He was a frequent public speaker in safety.
He was born in Battle Creek, Sept. 8, 1919, a son of Sherlie and Maud (Seaman) Parrott, now of 76 Dunning Ave. adn was married here Jan. 14, 1940. His wife, the former Laura Fenn, survives.

Other survivors are four children, Warren A of 9508 Verona Road and Susan L., Jane Marie and Daniel L., all at home; two sisters, Mrs. Howard (Bernita) Spillane of 7350 E Drive N and Mrs. Ronald (Velma) Shilts of Charlotte; and a brother, Charles W. Parrott of Williamston, Mich.
Mr. Parrott was employed by the Easton Mfg. Co. from 1938 until 1943. He then went on a farm, but returned to the Eaton plant as a forman in 1950. He had been with the Oliver Corp. since 1958.

Notes: Laura Leeser, 86 of Battle Creek died Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at Battle Creek Health System.
She was born in Battle Creek on April 27, 1921, to Warren A. and Elizabeth T. (Huggett) Fenn. Laura was a 1938 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and attended Michigan State University. In 1965, she graduated from Western Michigan University. She began working in the offices for Pennfield Schools in 1959 and later taught in the Pennfield Elementary Schools for 20 years, until retiring in 1984. After her retirement, she read to the children at Purdy Elementary until last year.
Laura married Lloyd R. Parrott January 14, 1940. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd on April 25, 1961; and by an infant grandson, Joseph Lloyd Parrott.
Laura was married to Norman C. Leeser on February 21, 1970. Surviving are her husband, Norman; children, Warren (Donna) Parrott of Dunnville, KY, Susan (Erwin) O'Dell of Marshall, Jane (Richard) Zischke of Livonia, Steven (Brenda) Leeser of Hudsonville, Daniel (Patricia) Parrott of Battle Creek, Jackie (David) Baker of Dowagiac, Terry (Peg) Leeser of Franklin, Tina (Gary) Gruner of Madras, OR; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Louise Blades and Elizabeth (Francis) Hiscock both of Pentwater and Sally Bosserd of Marshall.
At the request of the family, friends may call after 6:00 p.m. this evening at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where they will be received 6:00-8:00 p.m. today and Friday.
Services to celebrate Laura's life will be held at Convis Union United Methodist Church 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2007.

Notes: Jeffrey Marshall Parrott, 61, of Clayton, N.C., formerly of Jackson, Mich., passed away Oct. 5, 2016. The Jackson native leaves Cindy, his wife of nearly 38 years; son Eric; and daughters Sarah and Shannon and her partner, Bobby McInerny. Jeff was born March 13, 1955, the son of Donald and Betty Parrott. Mrs. Parrott, of Jackson, also survives, as well as a sister, Pam Parrott, of Texas. Notes: John passed away following a brief illness on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Covenant Medical Center-Cooper. Age 69 years. He was born on February 11, 1949, in Jackson, Michigan, to the late Bruce and Marcella Mae (Klein) Parrott. John served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was married to Barbara L. Almy on September 11, 1993, in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She survives him.
Prior to his retirement, John served as Fire Chief for the Buena Vista Fire Department. His life in fire service began at birth as his father was in the fire service as well. John had worked in the Michigan communities of Kentwood, Three Rivers, Egleston, Cascade Township, and Rochester Hills. He was on numerous boards within the Fire Chiefs Associations. He was an instructor in fire service for Delta College, as well as the University of Michigan. He had many articles published in several fire prevention magazines. He also loved teaching and working with Mobile Medical Response after his fire department days were done. One of his later passions was working with many dog rescue groups in Michigan. He loved his fur babies. John also had a passion for amateur radio and was known to many as W8JP
Surviving besides his wife, Barb, are their children, Krystin (Kevin) Rowley, of Melbourne, FL, Amanda Himmelspach and Berry (Jim Showalter), of Waterford, MI, Jocinda (Brian) Hirt, of Lake Orion, MI; grandchildren, Emma, Berry, Quinn, Kasey, and Elliott Hirt, and Meghan, Jenna, Kenneth, Clare, Allison, Jack, and Fulton Rowley.
