This is a small family that originated in New Jersey, and then settled in around Ashland county, Ohio, where they remain to this day. It is quite possible that it is related to the other New Jersey Parrott families, but in the absence of a paper trail, DNA testing is required to determine this family's origins.

  • DNA testing needed for this family. If you are a male from this line, sign up to get tested and thus help uncover its history and origins.

LOUDONVILLE - A 73-year-old Mount Vernon man is believed to have died as a result of a farming accident, the Ashland County coroner's office said Wednesday.

However, the death of William A. Parrott is still under investigation, coroner's investigator Karen Emery said. Parrott was found dead at a farm belonging to his son, at 835 County Road 3275, Emery said. The coroner's investigator would not say whether an autopsy is being conducted.

An Ashland County sheriff's spokesman said the son found the body sometime late Tuesday. The sheriff's office was notified at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday. Parrott reportedly was operating a tractor at the time of his death, the sheriff's department said.
