Mrs. Parrott was born in Beaufort County on June 21, 1916 daughter of the late John Samuel Ricks, Sr. and the late Iola Gray Swanner Ricks. She was a graduate of the former Highland High School and married James Floyd Parrott, Sr. on October 14, 1933 who preceded her in death on May 8, 1971. Mrs. Parrott was a homemaker and a member of Tranter's Creek Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters: Betty Lou Bullock of Lanexa, VA, Rita Parrott Paige of Jamesville and Trudy Parrott Sparrow of Belhaven; three sons: James Floyd Parrott, Jr. of Williamston, Ronnie Parrott of Morehead City and Mickey Parrott of Greenville; seventeen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Parrott was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Iris Nicole Parrott; an adult daughter: Carolyn P. Windley on January 23, 2000 and an adult son: Phillip Parrott on February 20, 1982.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Parrott's son: Ronnie Parrott located at 6725 U.S. Hwy 264 East, Washington, NC 27889.

Alvin D. Parrott, Sr., 94, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011.
A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 2 pm in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Parrott, a native of Pamlico County, lived most of his life in Pitt County. He farmed for a number of years and worked as a master carpenter for many years. He was a charter member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church and was a current member of Unity Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing in the church, gardening and sharing produce with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie C. and Mary Braughton Parrott; wife, Magalene Smith Parrott; brothers, Rayvon and Donald Parrott.
He is survived by his: sons, Cecil M. Parrott and wife, Carol, of Cedar Mountain, NC and A. J. Parrott, of Greenville; grandchildren, Jennifer P. Hardee and husband, Troy, of Greenville, Darlene P. Oakley and husband, Beasley, of Ayden, and Bonnie Parrott, of Greenville;
great-grandchildren, Austin C. Hardee, Amber Leigh Hardee, David Rouse, and Brittany Rouse; great-great-granddaughter, Karleigh Rouse;
sisters, Helen P. Keel and Verna Mae Reed, both of Greenville; and a

Mrs. Magalene Smith Parrott, 88, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, after a prolonged illness. The funeral service will be conducted today at 11 a.m. at Unity Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Parrott was a native of the Clayroot community and a lifelong resident of Pitt County. For more than 35 years she worked as a seamstress for College View Cleaners. She was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church and was a member of Unity F.W.B. Church.
Mrs. Parrott drew strength from her family and dedicated her life to serving them. She enjoyed relationships with many friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by an infant son and a number of brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Alvin D. Parrott; sons, Alvin D. Parrott Jr. of Greenville and Cecil M. Parrott and wife, Carol, of Brevard; grandchildren, Darlene P. Mrs. Parrott, a native of Pitt County, had lived in the Winterville community for a number of years. She was employed with E.I DuPont for 34 years as a Lab Tech. A sports enthusiast, Mrs. Parrott enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ayden.
She is survived by her: son, Ronald Parrott of the home; sister, Evelyn Dudley, of Ayden; and several nieces and nephews.

30. Benjamin T. Parrott (Benjamin Swindell5, Benjamin Floyd4, Benjamin Franklin3, Obed2, Benjamin F.1) was born on 25 May 1953 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania and died on 7 Jul 2013 in Downingtown, Chester Co., Pennsylvania at age 60.
General Notes: Benjamin T. Parrott, 60, of Downingtown, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at his home. Born in Philadelphia, he was the beloved son of Mary Mills Korhammer and husband, Frank, of Philadelphia, and the late Benjamin S. Parrott. He was a 1971 graduate of Roxborough High School. Mr. Parrott was co-owner of System Designs Services in Downingtown, which was founded in 1994. It was acquired by UGI in 2007, and he continued working there until this year. Ben was a huge Eagles fan and enjoyed tailgating and traveling to various game locations. He was also an avid fan of the Phillies and Sixers. When his son was younger, he enjoyed coaching for the Marsh Creek Eagles organization, and loved watching him play lacrosse in high school and college. In addition to his mother and step-father, Ben is survived by his children, Matthew T. and Meredith A. Parrott, both of Downingtown; his spouse, Margaret A. Novitsky Parrott of Downingtown; sister, Susan G. Gallagher (Michael) of Upper Darby; step-brother, David Korhammer of Merchantville, N.J,; and by his nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 11th, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Bringing Hope Home, 940 W. Valley Road, Suite 1602, Wayne, PA 19087.
