Another family, also from Bedfordshire, settled in Oakland Co., Michigan in 1852. Likewise, a second family from Bedfordshire also emigrated to the USA in 1888 and became established in Texas. It is not currently known if these families are related--a Y-DNA test would help make that determination.

Finally, one of the early American Parrott families also came from Bedfordshire a couple of centuries earlier, but there is no way of knowing if they are the same family without a Y-DNA test. It is known that there were at least 2 unrelated P-rr-tt families in Bedfordshire at the time.

Mrs. Alore was a homemaker who enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mount Clemens.

Relatives said she was known for the many quilts she sewed for her family and numerous charities such as veteran's homes, nursing homes and her church.

She is survived by her daughter, Sonia Simon of Harrison Township; son, Bernard Alore Jr. of Mount Clemens; sister Harriet (Gordon) Menkveld of Grand Rapids; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Alore Sr.; son, Richard Alore; brother George Parrott; sisters, Selma Schmid and Ruth Melbourne; and parents, William and Georgia (nee Foxx) Parrott.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Harold Vick Funeral Home, 140 S. Main St., Mount Clemens, with the Rev. Russll Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Grove Cemetery, Clinton Township. Visitation is 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be addressed to Presbyterian Villaage East, 33875 Kiely Drive, Chesterfield Township, MI 48051.

After completing High School, Sally went on to achieve her bachelor's degree in teaching from Michigan State University where she was proudly a member of the Chi Omega sorority. Prior to retirement, she taught at Jackson, Battle Creek and Birmingham, MI Public Schools.

On September 7, 1957 she married the love of her life Robert Harvey Ray and together they had two sons. She was a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church and enjoyed fishing, yoga, reading, music, volunteering, dogs and playing with her grandchildren. Sally is survived by her sister, Nancy Hatton, her two sons Eric (Jill) Ray and Andy (Donna) Ray, grandson Alex (Lindsay) Ray, granddaughter Jamie Ray and great granddaughter Adalyn Ray. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Harvey Ray.

She was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Mount Clemens and past member of the Chancel Choir.

She is survived nieces and nephews including Carol Parrott, Joyce Miller, Kathleen Parrott, Deborah Wagner, Dale, George and Randy Duff, Bruce Parrott and Jeff Parrot, as well as several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews and her canine companion poodle "Pierre". She was preceded in death by her father Wesley J. Parrott, Sr., her mother Genevieve G. Hetzel, brothers, Welsey Parrott, Jr., Bruce Parrott, Sr., Everett Parrott, sister Vivian Duff, niece Melva Yanna and step mother Palana Parrott.

She is preceded in death by Alex, her beloved husband of 51 yrs. Ruth was born July 19,1918 in Detroit. She served in the WAVES 1943-1946, earning the rank of Chief Yeoman, and married Alex while stationed in Hawaii in 1946. After the war she earned an AB from Kalamazoo College and a MA from UMich. Ruth was a psychologist at the Oakland County Juvenile Court for over 30 yrs helping abused and neglected children. She was deeply involved with both the DAR and helping veterans. She enjoyed gardening, receiving her Master Gardener Certificate from MSU at age 86. She is remembered as a tireless, kind, warm hearted, generous person. A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 7 at 1 p.m. at North Congregational Church, Farmington Hills, with lunch to follow. Jean was dedicated in her sales efforts; she cared deeply for her clients and knew the importance of giving great customer service. Besides her work in advertising sales, she was a foster parent to Jessica and Mara. She was active in the women's group at church, liked to sew, enjoyed camping and spending time with family.

Jean is survived by her husband Jim of Laingsburg, her son Jimmy of St Johns, her daughter Jennifer of East Lansing, four grandchildren: Ashley & Brandon Yanna of St Johns, and Amber & Michael Smith of East Lansing. Also surviving her are several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at noon at Grove Bible Church, 6990 E. Price Road, St Johns, MI 48879. A luncheon will immediately follow.

Donald G. Parrott, Age 79, of Shelby Township passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Bickford Assisted Living in Shelby Township, Michigan. He was married to Camelia Ann Hefner on June 22, 1963 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Utica, Michigan.

He is survived by his beloved wife Camelia; dearest children Susan Wranosky, Lori Adams and Amy (Trevor) Rosen; adored grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; Brother of Marvin, William, Leo and the late Shirley.

You loved simplicity. Your dinner needed no spice or onions ?? and pizza only made sense with pepperoni. You observed the simple, sweet details, whether looking out into your backyard or appreciating a road trip and scenic view. You taught us to live simply and to stop and appreciate the BLESSINGS around us.

You loved tradition . Christmas with you and mom in your beautifully decorated family room will never be the same. You loved to take pictures and cherished the present and the past, but taught us to set goals and have hope for the future - We learned all of this from you and carry it with us.

We loved Disney together and you taught us that it's ok to let the innocence and imagination of childhood shine sometimes; to believe in the MAGIC ?

You loved our mom endlessly, and until your last day, you remained faithfully by her side. You loved your children, your friends, your family , your pups. You were the BEST Dance Poppy and your grandchildren were your world. ?? You filled us with LOVE and taught us RESPECT and DEVOTION.

You showed us the WORLD And taught us the values to make a difference

You taught us about Jesus. To believe in Him , to serve Him, to love Him, to have FAITH.

General Notes: Mr. Donald G. Parrott, age 60, of Fair Haven, passed away Saturday morning at Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center. He was born on December 23, 1949 in Mount Clemens, Michigan, the son of the late George and Ruth (Harder) Parrott.

Don had worked as a cable splicer at Detroit Edison from 1970 until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of Local 223 - Utility Workers Union of America. Don had his license as a boat captain, enjoyed fishing, hunting and outdoor pursuits.

Mr. Parrott is survived by his son, Derek Geoffrey Parrott of Fair Haven; his sister, Sandra (Vernon) Wilson of Rotonda West, Florida, and niece, Suzanne (David) Harceg of Southport, North Carolina.

A funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens with the Reverend Melvin Hiler, Pastor of Christ the King Lutheran Church officiating. The visiting hours will be at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot Avenue, Mount Clemens on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
