This is one of the African-American families that appears after the Civil War, and it is also one of the most poorly documented ones. Its existence is known from the 1870 census for Benton county, and from an 1886 Tennessee Supreme Court record suing for debt. After that, the family disappears from the currently known record.

       6 F    v. Arty Parrott was born in 1857 in Benton Co., Tennessee.

       7 M    vi. Riley Parrott was born in 1859 in Benton Co., Tennessee.
