    4. Douglas Jeffery Parrott (John Douglas2, Douglas Annesley1) was born on 2 Jan 1950 in Milwaukee Co., Wisconsin and died on 10 Sep 2023 in Michigan, at age 73.

Notes: Douglas Jeffery Parrott, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on September 10, 2023 from a heart attack. He was a kind, gentle, generous man.

Doug was born to Joan and John Parrott on January 2, 1950 in Milwaukee, WI. He met his wife, Sara, at Western Michigan University. They lived a full, happy life together raising their sons, Jonathan and Scott, and later welcoming two daughters-in-law, Stephanie and Adeline, to their family. Together, Doug and Sara took great delight in being grandparents to Ava, Benjamin, and Caroline and just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Doug attended Ferris State University and earned degrees in Data Processing and Finance. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war as an explosive expert in a unit that decommissioned bombs. He retired from Haworth in 2012 after 30 years of employment there. He gallantly fought Parkinson's disease for over 18 years with never a complaint, always with his self-deprecating sense of humor. He'll always be remembered for his love and dedication to his family, his droll wit, and outrageously funny stories.

Doug was preceded in death by his sister, Candi Groesbeck. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Sara; sons, Jonathan Parrott (Adeline Koh) and Scott (Stephanie) Parrott; grandchildren, Ava, Benjamin, and Caroline Parrott; sisters Cathie Wilson and Barbara (Steve) Foster; sisters-in-law Barb (Roy) Carroll, Mary (Mike) Sletten, Monica Hoffman, Susan (John) Bawden, and many nieces and nephews.

The Parrott family encourages friends to attend a celebration of life open house to share stories and honor his life from 4-7pm on Wednesday September 13, 2023 in room 104 at the Haworth Inn, 225 College Ave, Holland, MI 49423.
