All the trees currently on Ancestry confuse this John with Col John Allen Parrett, b 19 Dec 1846 in Fayette Co Ohio, d 3 Dec 1918, m Mary Emma Mercer. Their d, Mary Olive Parrott, b 26 Nov 1880, m Auburn Wilford Duff.

Nevertheless, the use of 'Alpheus' as a name for one of his sons, along with the Ohio birth place, places him squarely in the same family. Both Johns were likely cousins. An educated *guess* is that the father of this John was Agustus Frederick Parrott, brother to Elias Parrott, the father of John Allen Parrett. The file is being kept separate till more definive proof may be found.

Notes: Frederick Alpheus Parrott, son of John and Johanna Dill Parrott was born April 4, 1875 at Mt. Mariah, Mo. He passed from this earthly life September 15, 1961 at Belleville, Kan., at the age of 86 years, 5 months and 12 days.

He received his education in the public schools of Jewell County, Kansas were he moved with his parents at age of four. Then for a number of years they lived in Oklahoma and moved to Belleville in 1899. He worked for 13 years in the laundry then 12 years in the "Cash Store" and several other places.

He was united in marriage to Ruth Adell Personett December 24, 1906. To this union four children came to bless the home, Everett, Wanda, Harold and Leta.

It was in Belleville that his entire life was spent. Fred was a sports fan and enjoyed wildlife. Especially in his later days were spent feeding birds and working with his flowers.

Being a member of the Central Christian church he served and attended regularly until the last few weeks. His favorite religious songs were "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere", and "Beyond the Sunset."

He was a member of the IOOF Lodge No. 96 also a member of Charity Rebekah Lodge No. 76.

Being preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and five brothers.

He leaves to remember his life, wife, Ruth of the home, children, Everett and wife, Emma, Belleville; Wanda Lockwood and husband, Glen of Marysville; Harold and wife, Genevieve of Lincoln, Neb.; Leta Swiercinsky and husband, George of Belleville. Grandchildren, Don Lockwood and wife, Barbara; Sharon Lockwood Marx and husband, Richard; Malou Parrott Parent and husband, Lewis; Janice Parrott Beale and husband Bill Lewellyn Parortt and Pat Swiercinsky. Three great-grandchildren; one sister and other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Maurice Graham, minister from the Christian Church, September 19, 1961. Burial in Belleville cemetery.

Notes: Ruth Adell Personett, daughter of George and Sarah Personett, was born May 14, 1886 in Freedom township near Belleville. She died at the community Memorial Hospital Marysville, on Nov. 8, 1974 at the age of 88 years, five months and 24 days. She has always lived in or around Belleville all of her life, except for about three years while working in state institutions in Larned, Topeka and Grand Island.

Mrs. Parrott was baptised at 19 years of age and has been a member of the Christian Church since that time. She was a member of the Charity Rebekah Lodge since 1915. She married Frederick A. Parrott Dec. 24, 1906 and to this union were born four children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1961, three brothers, two sisters. She is survived by her sons and daughters, Everett Parrott of Belleville, Wanda Lockwood of Marysville, Harold Parrott of Kearney, Nebr., and Leta Swiercinsky of Belleville, six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted from the Christian church Monday, November 11 at 2:00 p.m. with minister, Maurice Graham. Burial was in the Belleville cemetery. Services were conducted by Charity Rebekah Lodge No. 76.

Mis Wanda Parrott, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Parrott, and Mr. Glenn Lockwood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Lockwood, both of Belleville, were united in marriage Sunday evening, March 13, at the Christian parsonage. The Rev. P.O. Davis read the ceremony uniting the youg couple. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. George Swiercinsky, Mrs. Swiercinsky beting the sister of the bride.

Mrs. Lockwood was lovely in a frock of blue crepe with matching accessories and Mr. Lockwood wore a suit of dark blue.

The young couple are both well known in Belleville, having lived here for many years. The are graduates of the local high school with the classes of 1827 and 1929. Mrs. Lockwood has been employed with the J.C. Penney company for some time, and will continue her work there. Mr. Lockwood is an employe at the Kesl Battery shop. They will make Belleville their home.

Notes: Leta Berniece Parrott Swiercinsky, youngest of four children of Fred A. Parrot and Ruth Personett Parrot, was born August 28, 1912, at Belleville, and was active in the Belleville community her entire life, and passed away on November 23, 2003, at Republic County Long Term Care, Belleville, Kansas, at the age of 91 years, 2 months, and 25 days.

Leta graduated from Belleville High School 1930 and was united in marriage to George Swiercinsky on April 5, 1931. Following a brief honeymoon in Kansas City, they moved to their new stucco home on 23rd street in Belleville where they lived out their fifty three years of marriage.

As a lifelong member of the Central Christian Church, she was active at various times in the Naomi Circle, C.W.F., the Golden Circle Sunday School class, the church class, and the quilting circle. Also she had taught Sunday School classes, Vacation Bible School pianist. At the time of her death, she was the oldest continuous member of her church.

Her club work included memberships in Starlight Study Club, Amicus Bridge Club and Ladies Eagles. Her communicty work involved serving on bond drives during World War Two, election boards, Red Cross drives, Cancer drives, and Meals on Wheels. For many years, she was an active golfer at the Bellville Country Club.

It was in her home in 1957 that the women of her church launched a weekly quilting project. By 1977, these women had completed over 500 quilts. In addition to over thirty years of work with these women, Leta did her own quilting and many family members are recipients of her work.

Letay had the ability to make the dailiness of life an adventure, no matter whether it involved a spur of the moment picnic, helping with a daughter's activities, entertaining family or friends, or cheering at a football or baseball game. In her later years, she geatly enjoyed the opportunity to travel. On her 75th birthday she played a game of golf as well as a game of bridge. She truly had a zest for life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Parrott in 1961, Mother, Ruth Parrott, in 1974, Husband, George O. Swiercinsky in 1984, two Brothers, Everett in 1988 and Harold in 1933 (sic), one Sister, Wanda Lockwood in 2003.

She is survived by one Daughter, Patricia Miller and her Husband Clyde of Denten, Texas, two Step-Daughters, Debbie Pickerell and her Husband Larry of Longmont, Colorado, Pam White and her Husband Thomas of Houston, Texas, and their families, one Sister-in-Law, Genevieve Parrott of Irving, Texas, several Nieces and Nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at Ten Thirty A.M., Wednesday, November 26, 2003. Central Christian Church, Belleville, conducted by Pastor Mark Imel.

Interment will be made in Belleville Cemetery, Belleville. Memorials may be given to the Central Christian Church, Belleville. Services are under the direction of the Baechlor-Faulkner-Dart-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville.
