Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Parrott Jr. of Darlington, Willie James Parrott of Lynchburg and Bobby Parrott of Maryland; seven daughters, Shirley Parrott of the home, Rosa Bell Wells and Corrine Proctor, both of Washington, D.C., Lille Mae Wells of Lynchburg, Ivory Dell Burns of Cheral and Emma Jean Cox and Mary Alice Brown, both of Maryland; a brother, Gus Jackson of Sumter; a sister, Willie Mae Anderson of Lynchburg; 54 grandchildren; 92 great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at New Zion AME Church in Wisacky with the Rev. Franklin W. Spears officiating, assisted by Elder Gladys Watson. Burial will be in Broad Branch Cemetery in Wisacky.

Willie James Parrott, son of the late Jimmy Parrott and Victoria Washington Parrott, was born June 22, 1935, in Lee County. He was educated in the public schools of Lee County. Early in his career, he explored the countryside as a truck driver. Later, he served as chief of police in Florence and Lee Counties. He returned to his labor of love as a truck driver before retiring.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Lille Mae Wells Parrott of the home; three daughters, Diane Parrott of Columbia, Carolyn Brown of Florenc and Ernestine Carter of St. Charles; five sons, James "Bookie" Parrott of the home, Edward Brown of Bishipville, Wendell Brown of Timmonsville, Willie Lee Carter of Mayesville and Willie James Carter of Louisiana; seven sisters, Lillie Mae Wells and Shirley Parrott of Lynchburg, Ivory Dell Burns of Cheraw, Rosa Bell Wells and Corrine Proctor of Washinton, D.C., Mary Alice Brown and Emma Jean Cox of Maryland; two brothers, Jimmy Parrott Jr. of Darlington and Bobby Parrott of Maryland; two daughters-in-law, Nimat Brown and Tina Parrott; 24 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and firends. One son, James "Feet:" Carter, and one granddaughter, Abrianna Kylia Brown, preceded Mr. Parrott in death.

Mr. Parrott was a member of Mount Pleasant AME Church, Lynchburg, and also a member of Jordan Chapel No. 338 F&AM PHS Mason.

Viewing will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday from the Mount Pleasant AME Church with the Rev. Davie Brown officiating.
