Another group of Parrotts appearing after the Civil War is the group founded by Guy and William Henderson Parrott in Jackson county, Arkansas. Like many African-American families, it is very poorly documented; for that matter, it is not clear if this is one family or two. Much more research is needed.

General Notes: Rev. Calvin Parrott, pastor of the colored Methodist church in this city, died at his home here Sunday night, June 20, at 10:20 o'clock, following a brief illness of heart trouble. The funeral services were held from the home at three o'clock Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Green of Parsons. Interment was made in the Tibbetts Cemetery.
Rev. Parrott was the son of Henderson and Susan Parrott andw as born at Tuckerman, Arkansas, January 14, 1884, and was aged at death 36 years 6 months and 6 days. He united with the St. Paul A.M.C. Church at Tuckerman, March 17, 1801, with Rev. L.B. Woods as pastor, and was admitted to the anual conference at Little Rock in 1903. The began his first mission of preaching at Eureka Springs, Ark., and he continued this mission through the intervening years. Lately he came to Oswego March 15, 1920, and faithfully filled his place as pastor here until his death. On April 14, 1920, he was united in marriage to Miss Lucinda Bowen, of St. John, Kansas. On June 17 he became seriously ill and remained so, yet knew everyone that he had had a personal acquaintance with, who came to see him until death claimed him. He leaves to mourn his loss a loving wife, father and mother, two sisters, two brothers, and other relatives and friends.

She is survived by three sons, George C. Parrott of Columbia, Md., William H. Parrott of St. Louis, Mo. and Joe B. Parrott of Tuckerman; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 at God's House of Prayer in Newport with Pastor Therman Walker officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Tuckerman. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2009 at Taylor & Kimbrough Funeral Home.
