A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Ebenezer Baptist Church, Cobbs Creek, by the Rev. N.T. Jones. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at noon by Howard Funeral Hom, Ark.

General Notes: Funeral services for Mrs. Nora Lee Parrott, Negro, who died MOnday, will be held at 5:30 this afternoon at the Smith Brothers Funeral home, 194 West Queen St.
Rev. J.W. Patterson, pastor of First Baptist church, Negro, will conduct the services and burial will be in Elmerton cemetery.

General Notes: PORTSMOUTH - Susan Elizabeth Edney, 71, of Carrington Court, passed away March 28, 2006. She was born Jan. 13, 1935, in Princess Anne County, Virginia, to the late McKinley and Alma Parrott and received her early and secondary education in Matthews, Va. Mrs. Edney was a member of Hood Chapel AMEZ Exhorter where she served as president of the Missionary Society, deaconess, stewardess and community service. She was the co-business owner along with her husband of "Henry's Barbeque."
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Henry Edney of Portsmouth; four daughters, Joyce Jones, Sherry Edney-Jones, both of Norfolk, Bridget Royster (George) of Chesapeake and Sandra White (Marcus) of Portsmouth; two sons, Dwight Edney (Belva) and Brian Edney (Foretha), both of Portsmouth; one sister, Shirley Willis of Baltimore, Md.; two brothers, Clifton Parrott and James Parrott (Sadie), both of Baltimore; two foster brothers, Herbert Carter (Doris) and Sherwood Carter (Harriet), both of Matthews, Va.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Jimmy Edney (Maude); two sisters-in-law, Wilhelmina Edney and Adele Carter; a special cousin, Erma Lee Dunlap; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby St., with the Rev. Lawrence E. Chambers Jr. officiating. Interment will be at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 8 Carrington Court one hour prior to the service for the procession to the chapel. General Notes: SHIRLEY LEE FRANCES WILLIS was born to the late McKinley and Alma Annie Bell Parrott on December 20, 1932 in Princess Anne County, Virginia. She departed this life on April 16, 2014 after a lengthy battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She received her formal education in Mathews County, Virginia Public Schools. She later went on and received an Associate of Arts degree in Human Resources from the Community College of Baltimore City. She began her career at the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn, Maryland and retired in January 2010 after more than 37 years of service. She met and married the late Walter Oscar Willis, and out of this union four children were born, Michael, Charlene, Gary, and Glenn. She was a member and Usher of Brown Memorial Baptist Church for many years. When her illness started to take a toll, she faithfully followed Joel Osteen's televised service every Sunday morning. Her favorite pastimes were reading novels, doing crossword, word search and Sudoku puzzles, and listening to music by Kirk Franklin, Hezekiah Walker and Martha Munizzi. Shirley was preceded in death by: her sister, Elizabeth Edney; and her brothers, Nathaniel Parrott and Clifton Parrott. She leaves to mourn: her four children; seven grandchildren, Courtney, Tiffany, Danielle, Shaunielle, Gary, Mike, and Maurice; eleven great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
