  • 1. Wiliam Parrott was born in 1830 in England and died on 7 Apr 1896 in Lancaster Co., Nebraska, at age 66.

    Notes: William Parrott, a well known farmer living north of town, shows some sign of improvement from an illness of several months. His trouble is water on the chest.

    William Parrott, an old settler in Lancaster precinct, died Tuesday night at his home two miles north of town. Mr. Parrott has been in poor health for months, but paralysis was immediate cause of his death. The funeral which was delayed awaiting the arrival of two children from Illinois will be held this afternoon at 1 o'clock from the family residence. Rev. J.H.N. Cobb of the Havelock Methodist church officiating.

    Wiliam married Janet Izatt in 1858 in Alabama. Janet was born in 1834 in Dunfermline, Scotland and died on 8 May 1910 in Lancaster Co., Nebraska, at age 76.

    Notes: Mrs. Janet Parrott, for thirty years a a resident of Lancaster county, was born at Dunfermline, Scotland, in 1834 and died in her home near Havelock, Neb., on Sunday, May 8 at 11 p.m. aged seventy-six years. She was united in marriage to William Parrott at Springhall, Ala., in 1858, and he died at his home near Havelock, Apr 9, 1896. Mrs. Parrott was the mother of ten children, five boys and five girls, John J. of Omaha, Richard R. of Hartline, Wash., Mrs. O.J. Chase, of Joliet, Ill., Mrs. J.M. Casey, of Boise, Idaho, Mrs. Laxon of Havelock, and Robert and Mary living at home. She leaves eighteen grandchildren.

    Mrs. Parrott's father was a Presbyterian preacher at Townhill, Scotland, and she was brought up in that faith and was an earnest Christina from her childhood. They came to Lincoln in 1889 and moved to their farm near Havelock in 1882. On March 23, 1894, she united with the First Methodist church of Havelock of which she was a member at the time of her death. The funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church last Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. W.H. Prescott, the pastor who received her into the church, assisted by Rev. J.B. Priest. Interment was at Wyuka cemetery. She was greatly respected by all who knew her and will be missed by a large circle of friends.

    Notes: Miss Mary Parrott, 67, died in her sleep between 6 and 7 o'clock Friday morning at her home north of Lincoln on highway No. 77. She had been ill but her death was unexpected.

    Born in Maryland, she came to Nebraska in childhood with her parents and had lived on the farm on route 9, 55 years. She was active in Rebekah lodge No. 150 and the Havelock Methodist Church. Her hobby was travel and she had made several tours of Europe and the orient.

    Surviving are a brother, William, also living on the home farm, and three sisters, Mrs. Fred Everrett of Lincoln, Mrs. O.J. Chase of Joliet, Ill., and Mrs. Jennie Casey of Portland, Ore.

    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Havelock Methodist church, Rev. G.A. Moon officiating. Kathryn Dean and Lois Baker will play. Havelock Rebekah lodge will conduct the rites of the order at the grave in Wyuka.

    Notes: Edward R. Parrott, 23 years of age, son of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Parrott, 2956 Harris street, is dead after an illness of three years with tuberculosis. He was formerly employed by the Union Pacific office and after contracting the disease spent considerable time in the west.

    Surviving him besides his parents are two younger sisters, Bernice and Ruth. Funeral services will be held at the family residence Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with Rev. C. W. McCaskill officiating. Interment will be at Laurel Hill cemetery.

    Notes: Andrew Thomas Parrott was born at Grangeville, Va., Dec 18, 1876. He died at the age of 60. He had lived in Lancaster county for 55 years coming to Nebraska with his parents at the age of five. He was united in marriage with Goldie Goslin, Oct. 16, 1907. To this union was born three sons . The family lived for 30 years on the same farm that Mr. Parrott was living when he married. He was an industrious citizen and successful farmer. About one year ago he was taken ill and since that time was confined to his home. Besides his wife he is survived by his three sons, Earl, Kenneth and Russell. One brother, William of Lincoln, four sisters, Mrs. F.G. Everett, Miss Mary, both of LIncoln, Mrs. O.J. Chase, Joliet, Ill., and Mrs. Janet Casey, Portland, Ore. Thomas Parrott was known among his neighbors as a man of high honor and industry. He was one of Lancaster county's outstanding farmers. His rugged physique was well matched by his rugged honesty. Such men as he make our country safe. His conduct was an expression of faith in man and God. Funeral services were held Oct. 14 with Rev. W.L. Ruyle in charge. Burial in Wyuka.

    At 8 o'clock last evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur D. King, 2518 P street, took place the marriage of their daughter, Dosey Gertrude, to William Arthur, the Rev. B.M. Long, pastor of the Second Presbyterian church officiating. The bride wore an empire gown of white Persian lawn elaborately trimmed in embroidery and vallenciennes lace. <...>

    The bride and groom grew up near together in Lancaster county and have been friends since childhood. The bride has lived in Lincoln for about four years. She was devoted considerable time to the study of music, for which she is said to have a special talent. Mr. Parrott has a farm three miles north of Havelock, where he and his bride will reside.

    Notes: Lois Parrott passed away on June 22, 2018, just a few weeks short of her 100th birthday. Born on July 15, 1918, to Charles McCawley and Pearl Miller McCawley, she spent most of her life in the Lincoln area. Lois graduated from Lincoln High School and attended the University of Nebraska.

    She worked for several businesses and organizations including the Nebraska Public Power District. She also worked in state government including the office of Governor Victor Anderson, and later served as an administrative assistant to several Nebraska State Senators before retiring. She spent many of the retirement years residing at Legacy Estates. Lois was a lifelong Nebraska Cornhusker football fan and attended games into her mid-90s.

    Lois married Kenneth Parrott on June 10, 1939, and they raised two daughters, Susan Boulet and Jane Hoffman. She also had three grandchildren: Lance Zach, James Grant and Keeley Grant. She is survived by her daughter Susan, grandchildren Lance and Keeley, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

    The family wants to thank her caregivers for their loving support of Lois these past months.

    Family and friends will celebrate Lois's life on her 100th birthday Sunday, July 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Legacy Estates, 7200 Van Dorn.

    Survivors include her children, Jan (Dennis) Brislen of Omaha, Richard (Anne) Parrott and Jo Tiller of Lincoln; 7 Grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

    Preceded in death by husband, Russell; sisters, Esther Farrar, Elsie Hermone, and Hilde Nagel.

    Private graveside service will be held for immediate family.

    Notes: Richard "Dick" Parrott, 71, of Lincoln passed away July 19, 2022. He was born in Lincoln, NE to Russell and Elizabeth (Becker) Parrott on Halloween in 1950.

    A farmer and resident of rural north Lincoln his entire life, Dick was well known for his wit and willingness to help his neighbors. He spent his life active in livestock production and shows, often mentoring others in the process. Dick, his wife Anne, and his longtime business partner, Ben Walbrecht, collected many friends. Almost everyday someone would find their way to his driveway to get advice, share a story, or just say hello. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and community.

    He is survived by his wife Anne, his sons Russell and Charles, their spouses Debbie and Anne, his sisters Janice Brislin and Jo Tiller, his beloved grandchildren Carley, Helen, Hazel, and Isaac, and the Ben and Denise Walbrecht family.

    A celebration of life service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the Davey Community Center, 17810 N. 2nd Street. Private prior inurnment at Tothill Cemetery, Davey, NE.

    William A. "Bill" Parrott, 81, of Lincoln, formerly Raymond, passed away on December 3, 2021. He was born on February 25, 1940, in Lincoln to Harold and L. Lynnelle (Gregg) Parrott.

    Bill enjoyed spending time with family, and many hobbies, however working on farm equipment and attending tractor shows were a passion of his! He was a self-employed mechanic repairing grain elevators and farm equipment through the years.

    Family members include his wife of 38 years, Patricia of Lincoln; children Lynnelle (Dan) Green of Clemmons, NC; Kristina (Michael) Forsythe of Shelton, CT; Karyn Estes of Omaha, NE; Kelley Estes of Wichita, KS; grandchildren Alex Green, Hannah Forsythe, and Sam Forsythe; brother Jerry (Mary) Parrott of Iron Mountain, MI.

    Preceded in death by his parents and son David.

    Celebration of Life to be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 'O' Street, Lincoln, NE (10). Private family committal service to be held.

    William married Elizabeth Jane Criley. Elizabeth was born on 17 Jan 1940 in Nebraska and died on 24 Nov 2018 in Fort Collins, Larimer Co., Colorado, at age 78.

    Notes: A 35 year resident of Denver Colorado and a resident of Lincoln and Greenwood Nebraska passed on November 24, 2018 in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was born on January 17, 1940 to A. Elmer and Leona (Lewis) Criley. A 1957 Graduate of Lincoln Northeast, she continued her studies at the College of Emporia, Kansas and the University of Nebraska.

    She trained as a paralegal and worked 20 years for Vicorp in Denver. In 2005, Elizabeth retired from trust Data Corporation. Her retirement allowed her to spend special loving time with family and friends. She enthusiastically and skillfully pursued writing, crafting and genealogy. Elizabeth was extremely proud of her Welsh heritage.

    Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Lynnelle (Dan) Green, grandson, Alex and brother, Phillip Criley. She was preceded in death by her parents and son David.

    A private memorial service will be held later in Emporia, Kansas.
