    General Notes: EASTON, Md., Feb. 14.--Mr. Barnett Parrott, aged 87 years, died at his home in Bamburg, Trappe district, Talbot county, on February 18. He was probably the oldest resident of Trappe district and very nearly the oldest white man in the county. He was remarkably active unitl taken 10 days ago with the grip, which has terminated fatally. On his eighty-seventh birthday, last fall, he worked in his cornfield and also attended a dinner party given by his son in his honor. Mr. Parrott was a farmer all his life. He was an official in the Methodist Protestant Church for many years. He was a very useful man in his day and generation and led a life that was an example to the community in all particulars. His wife died some years ago. He leaves one son, James Barnett Parrott, who is married and has a family. He is now confined to his bed with inflammatory rheumatism.

    General Notes: William Nicholas Parrott, a retired farmer of Trappe district, died at his home in Easton Tuesday morning, June 22d. He was born in Trappe district in 1849, being just 87½ years old. He is survived by a widow and the following children:

    Norman Parrott, Burton H. Parrott, Mary E. Stack, all of Wilmington; and Agnes blann, James I. Parrott, Sallie V. Parrent (sic), and Reed Parrott, all of Easton.

    Funeral services were held from Spence's funeral parlors Thursday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, Rev. Lee Richcreek, pastor of Trinity M.E. Church, South, Easton, and Rev. H.P. Adams, of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, officiating. Interment in Spring Hill Cemetery.

    His four sons and grandson, Milton L. Blann, of Goldsborough, N.C., were pallbearers.

    General Notes: EATON - Sallie Virginia Parrott died Friday Sept. 6, 1991 at the William Hill Manor. She was 100.

    Born on Nov. 23, 1890 in Bruceville, she was the daughter of the later William Nicholas and Sarah Chambers Parrott.

    She was educated in Bruceville, where she worked at a retail store and as a seamstress. In 1922, she moved to Easton where she worked for a sewing factory until 1943. Miss Parrott worked for the State Department of Health until she retired in 1960. She attended Faith Chapel in Bruceville where for many years she was the orgnist. She also attended Sunday cchool (sic) at the Southern Methodist Church in Easton wand was the secretary there for many years.

    Miss Parrott is survived by several nieces and nephews. Services will held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9 at the Newnam Fueneral Home in Easton. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Arrangements are by Newnam Funeral Home, Easton.

    He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Sullivan Parrott; two daughers, Mrs. James Marvel, Easton, and Mrs. Guy Parks, St. Michaels; two sons David, Easton, and Philip, Federalsburg; four sisters, Mrs. Nellie Collison, Mrs. Agnes Blann and Miss Sallie Parrott, all of Easton, and Mrs. Herman Stock, of Wilmington; one brother, Burton of Wilmington; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

    General Notes: EASTON - Philip Kenneth Parrott of Knightsbridge Road, Easton, a retired farmer, died at Memorial Hospital, Easton on Thursday, Oct 13, 1988. He was 70.

    Born in Trappe, June 28, 1918, he was the son of the late James Isaac and Lena Sullivan Parrott. After attending public school in Easton he farmed in the Easton area until 1947 when moved to Federalsburg where he farmed until retiring in 1985. From 1964-1985 he was also a bus contractor for the Caroline County School system. A resident of the Easton area since 1985 he was a member of the First Wesleyan Church of Easton where he was a past board member. He was a past member of the Delmarva Poulty Industry and Caroline County Farm Bureau.

    Mr. Parrott is survived by his wife, the former Mildred Ebling whom he married in September 1941; three sons, David R. Parrott of Easton, Charles Wayne Parrott of Seaford, Del. and Dana K. Parrott of Federalsburgl two sisters, Pauline E. Marvel and Edna M. Coulby, both of Easton, a brother, David S. Parrott of Easton, and six grandchildren. Another sister, Louise Parks, died in 1945.

    Funeral services will be held at The Newnam Funeral Home, Easton, on Monday, October 17 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Everett C. Isaacs, minister of the First Wesleyan Church, Easton, will officiate. He will be assisted by the Re. Allen B. Clark, a retired Wesleyan minister. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery, Easton, with Daniel G. Tarrant, Paul S. Carroll, Richard J. Prettyman, Glenn L. Taylor, Donald L. Kinshaw, Sr. and J. Jerry Leonard serving as pallbearers. Honarary pallbearers will include Timothy Parrott, Vicki Parrott, Phillip L. Parrott, George Benny and Marvin Harrison.

    Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, October 16 from 2-4 p.m. and one hour prior to the service.

    David married Mildred Mae Fluharty on 10 May 1941 in Caroline Co., Maryland. Mildred was born on 24 Oct 1924 in Tanyard, Caroline Co., Maryland and died on 8 Dec 2020 in Easton, Talbot Co., Maryland at age 96.

    General Notes: Mildred Parrott passed away peacefully on December 8, 2020 at her home.

    Millie was born at the family farm at Tanyard (now Frazier Neck Rd. in Caroline County) to Mary Prettyman Fluharty and William Ralph Fluharty. Mildred Mae Fluharty was their 5th child. She is survived by her sister Dorothy McLaughlin of Wilmington, De. She is also survived by her three children, Wesley Parrott of Philadelphia, Suzanne Parrott (m Scott Braman) of Peaks Island, Maine, and Mary David Donnelly (m Dan Donnelly) of Annapolis, Md, grandchildren: Sean Parrott-Wolfe (m Kaley), Kai Parrott-Wolfe (m Edith), Finn Braman, Sam Donnelly, Ryan Donnelly, Grace Donnelly and three great grandchildren: Helen, Dashiell and Zane.

    Millie attended Hubbard School in Caroline County and graduated from Preston High School. She married David Sullivan Parrott in 1942. Millie accompanied him to Texas during his basic training time during WWII. Afterward she worked for the Bell Telephone Company in Easton, MD. Millie became an active volunteer in the Easton Hospital as a Candy Striper. She often worked as bookkeeper for Dave Parrott at Easton Firestone Store on Federal St. Millie enjoyed world travel as well as exploring the US with her family her family.

    From 1941, she was a regular parishioner at Trinity M. E. Church which became St. Mark's Methodist Church in Easton. There, she was a Circle Leader, President of the WSCS, Chairman of Local Church Activities, Chairman of Commission of Missions, Chairman of the Thrift Shop, first woman on the Board of Trustees and first woman to Chair the Board of Trustees.

    She was instrumental in the founding of numerous projects in the Easton community through St. Mark's Church: the Easton Daycare Center, Inc., St. Mark's Ministry to the Aged, and the St. Mark's Thrift Shop. She served the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross in Easton, Board of Directors of Bethany House, Cordova, Board of Directors of Tidewater Performing Arts Society, Dixon House Board of Directors. She was active in the founding of Talbot Hospice and was for many years recruiting, coordinating, training and supervising volunteers. She also served Chesapeake Center. In 1984 she was awarded Woman of the Year by Soroptimist International of Talbot County and in 2003 was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow Community Service Award. Until recently she was actively involved on the Board of the Spring Hill Cemetery Association helping to guide the preservation of our historic burial grounds in Easton, and she continued until a few weeks ago with providing sandwiches to feed the hungry of our county through the Hunger Coalition.

    Mildred Parrott received care at home through Talbot Hospice Foundation and with the help of her children and her loving caregivers.

    An outdoor memorial service will be held at Saturday December 12, 2020, @ 1:00PM at the Memorial Garden at St. Mark's United Methodist, Easton, Md. For those wishing to remain in their cars at the church, there will be a localized broadcast on the radio. There will be signage at the church to direct you to the channel. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Oxford Rd., Easton.

    General Notes: David R. Parrott, 79, Dover, DE, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022, at home, surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Phillip and Mildred Parrott.

    David was a computer programmer for many years, he worked for Delmarva Data Center for 42 years, and loved all things computer. In his spare time he enjoyed flying planes, as he had his private pilot license. He also enjoyed bowling on a league; listening to and performing music; spending time with his grandkids; and being around classic cars \endash the louder the better. Growing up on a farm, he had an appreciation for farm machinery and would attend the occasional farm show. Travelling with his family was also very important to him, visiting and cruising internationally and within the States. He was very active in the Milford First Baptist Church, where he served in a bus ministry and in many active roles such as Deacon, Trustee, Treasurer, and worship music leader. His love of music and the Lord came to life in a gospel quartet, "Kingdom Sound". He remained active in his current church, Bible Fellowship Church.

    David was a reserved, modest, and humble man who had a subtle sense of humor. He was a loving, caring, and supportive husband. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, passing on life lessons, a spirit of fun, and his love of bouncy balls. He was a true servant \endash a selfless man who often gave to strangers as much as he did his family. David will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and unconditional love.

    In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his young sons, Christopher and Matthew Parrott; brother, C. Wayne Parrott.

    David is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sandra Parrott; sons, Mark Parrott (Jennifer) and Tim Parrott (Jennifer); granddaughters, Madison, Morgan, and Zinnia; and brother, Dana Keith Parrott.

    A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 15522 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE, at 1 PM, with a visitation starting at 12 noon. Interment will follow at the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.

    General Notes: Charles W. Parrott, age 74, passed away unexpectedly on February 29, 2020 at the age of 74, surrounded by his most cherished loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip K. Parrott and Mildred E. Parrott of Easton, Maryland. Charles is survived by the love of his life, Faye N. Parrott; his adoring children Vicki K. Shirey and Philip L. Parrott; his pride and joy, his six grandchildren, Payton, Rian, Brennan, Andy, Michael, and Mary Margaret, and his brothers, Dana K. Parrott and David R. Parrott. Charles was born October 7, 1945 and graduated from Colonel Richardson High School in 1963. Charles Parrott married Faye Needles in 1966 and spent 53 wonderful, loving years together and were rarely apart from one another. Charles served in the United States Army Reserve and worked at DuPont as a supervisor for 33 years and provided his family with full lives.

    Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He lived life to the fullest, enjoying spending time with those he loved most. Charles had a bright and energetic personality and was known for his sense of humor and passionate story telling. Charles loved traveling to Rehoboth Beach, the Outer Banks, Florida, and Lancaster, PA, and had a passion for genealogy, history, and geology. Charles touched many lives with his generosity and love for others, especially his neighbors.

    The family would like to thank the caring staff at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital and Christiana Care Hospital.

    Family, friends, and others whose lives were touched by Charles W. Parrott are invited to the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 Shipley St., Seaford, DE 19973 on March 5, 2020. The viewing begins at 11am, followed by services at 12pm. Per Charles' last wishes, there will be no reception.
