There are a half dozen John Parrotts born at the same time in South Carolina, making an assignment to the correct family difficult.

John married Catherine Thomas, daughter of Thomas and Nancy. Catherine was born in 1846 in South Carolina.

.Notes: .The death certificate for John D Jr lists his mother's name as Nancy Thomas. There is in fact a Nancy Thomas in his household in the 1870 census, but at age 70, is too old to be his mother. Could be his grandmother?

Mrs. Osie Mae Parrott Jones, 47, wife of Sam P. Jones, general evangelist of the Disciples of Christ, died at her residence, 720 Sunset Drive, at 8:25 o'clock today, after an illness of several months. She was born April 28, 1893, in Naples, Texas, the daughter of J. D. and Beulah Roundtree Parrott. She received her primary education in the schools of her native state, attended Eastern Texas Normal College and the University of Kentucky. She was a member of Broadway Christian church.

Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ernest Collins, Miss Ouida K. Jones and Miss Delta Theta Jones, all of Lexington, who are church singers known as "The Blue Bonnet Sisters;" two sisters, Mrs. Minor Patton and Mrs. Floyd Walker, both of Eldorado, Ark.; and a brother, Hubie Parrott, of Louisiana.

The body was removed to the W. R. Milward mortuary chapel where services will be held at 1 o'clock Tuesday, the Rev. William E. Sweeney, pastor of the Broadway Christian church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. R. L. Riddell, the Rev. E. E. Gotherman and the Rev. George Jacobs. The following brothers of Mr. Jones will serve as an honorary escort: W. T. Jones, J. W. Jones, T. E. Jones, J. L. Jones, R. H. Jones and C. D. Jones. The active pallbearers will be nephews of Mrs. Jones. Interment will take place at Ebenezer, Mercer county, at 3:30 o'clock Tuesday.

Mrs. Parrott was born October 22, 1929 in Red Top, Missouri and lived in Texarkana most of her life.

She was retried from Lone Star Ammunition Plant and a member of Heritage Baptist Church, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and theYoung at Hearts at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Norman Parrott.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Kenneth and Lisa Parrott; three grandchildren.

Burial will be in Red Top Cemetery in Red Top Missouri.
