Howard Lee Parrott, 74, of North Fairfield, died Friday at Wade Park Veteran Hospital in Cleveland, OH.

He was born April 18, 1929 in Plymouth Township, to the late Hartson F. and Charity (Crager) Parrott, and was a lifelong area resident.

He also lived in Hemet, CA in 1968 - 1970. Work as a mechanic for Hemet Imported Auto Service.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, serving as a mechanic during the W.W.II. He was a former state director of the Brothers of the Third Wheel Trike Association and was a member of the Greater Toledo Volkswagen Club. He was a former member of Civil Air Patrol.

He was a former employee of Detrich Volkswagen in Sandusky and had also worked at Rotary Printing Company. He had been a Volkswagen mechanic for many years. Retried VW Mechanic.

He was a member of the North Fairfield Historical Society, the Brothers of the Third Wheel Trike Association and enjoyed auto racing, model airplanes, model trains and his Family. He had attended auto body and fender design school in Chicago, Illinois in 1950.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma M. (Orphey) Parrott, whom he married April 12, 1952 in a ceremony performed by the Rev. J.P. Garcia; a son, Brian L. Parrott of Norwalk; a daughter, Linda (Parrott) Reilly of Norwalk; five grandchildren, a step grandson and six great grandchildren; a Half brother, Henry Cole of Willard; Half sisters, Mildred (Cole) Wright of Plymouth, Aggie Louise (Irvin) Jamerson of Plymouth and Mary (Irvin) Wright of Shelby.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James Arthur Parrott in 1996; a Half sister, Marjorie (Cole) Baugh in 2001; Myrtle Fay Parrott in 1970; Velma Ruth Parrott in 1914 and a grandson Adam Parrott in 1990.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, OH.

Private graveside services will be held at the New North Fairfield Cemetery.

She was born on August 16, 1950 in Willard, daughter to the late James Arthur and Lessie (nee Salyers) Parrott. Allene graduated from South Central in 1968.

She worked for R.R. Donnelley for 26 years and in later years was a teacher's aide specializing in helping children with special needs. Allene had a heart for children and loved animals, flowers, flower gardens and butterflies. She was a wonderful cook, wife, mother, companion and friend.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 50 years John Beekman; children, Allen Beekman of Ashland and Adam (Tami) Beekman of Palm Harbor, FL; 4 grandchildren; siblings, Jimmy Parrott of Greenwich, Pauline Lengyel of Celeryville and Susan Castle of Greenwich; brother-in-law Rick Knott of New London. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Jodi Ann; brother, Junior and sister, Jewell.

Former Elida resident, Norman Earl Parrott, 68, of Lake Ridge, Indian Lake, died Tuesday morning.

He was born in Cleveland, the son of Voley and Cora Clark Parrott. He married the former Ollie Miller, who survives.

Mr. Parrott retired in 1970 from Westinghouse.

Survivors also include three daughters, Joan Weingardt of Ridgefield, Conn., Martha Kaye Lomicka of Louisville, Ky., and Jane Huber of Bellefountaine, four grandchildren, and a sister, Marjorie Sims of Kissimmee, Fla.

Services wll be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Van Horn Funeral Home, Lakeview. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made the --- County Cancer Society.

Jean was born on February 24, 1928, to the late Harold and Edna (Momeyer) Parrott. Jean graduated from North Fairfield High School in 1945 and was a lifelong resident of the Greenwich and North Fairfield area. She was employed at the Shelby Air Force Depot, NASA Plumbrook Station, and co-owned and operated the Foxes Fruit Farm. Jean was a member of Alliance Church in New London and served as the church secretary in her retirement years.

Jean is survived by her children, Mickie (Bob) Ziarko, and Terry (Deb) Conley; 2 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Proctor "Joe" Fox, whom passed in 2021, and her brother, Bud Parrott.

Brian was a janitor for North Fairfield and South Central Schools, had worked for the Frederick Machine Shop, Faulhaber Factory in Monroeville, R & D Equipment Inc. and for many years worked alongside his parents as a Volkswagen mechanic in North Fairfield.

Brian enjoyed riding bicycles throughout his life, and spent a lot of time on the North Inland Trail. He also built go karts, mini bikes, 3 wheeled motorcycles, and rehabbed old Volkswagens. He liked to tell old stories, listen to music of the 70 and 80 spend time on YouTube, with family and his grandson, David, build model cars and trucks, follow wrestling, especially Hulk Hogan, and play Little League baseball. He was a member of the Boy Scouts, Dart Ball Club at Maria Bar, and Brothers of the Third Wheel.

Brian is survived by his son, Eddy Lee (Shawna) Parrott; sister, Linda Lee (John) Reilly; grandsons, David Lee Parrott and Jonathan Lee Jordan; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Adam Lee Parrott in 1990, and former wife, Nina Jean Parrott, in 2015.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory in Tiffin. She cleaned houses, worked at Kooken's and the Hotel, babysat, sold Avon, tended vending machines and books for the community. Ruth was also the librarian for the Greenwich Library for many years. She retired from the library in January 1997. She was a member of several area card clubs and the Channel Cats CB Club.

Ruth's family was the first and foremost to her. She liked to scrapbook and loved the Cleveland Indians. Ruth was the beloved mother to Karin (Don) Perry, Chad (Trisha) Buchanan, Gary (Kirsten) Buchanan, Karla (Larry) Buchanan, Kenneth (Suzy) Parrott and Cindy (Rick) Schimpff; daughter-in-law, Shelly Holzmiller Buchanan; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Jay and Maude (Sweet) Pettit; son, Keith Parrott; grandson, Justin Parrott; brothers, Donald, Ralph, Chuck, Kenneth and Robert Pettit; and sisters, Corrine Momeyer, Shirley Music and Audrey Watts.
