There is a group of Parrotts that traces back to a John H. Parrott, b 1811 in Tennessee. Although the paper trail ends there, DNA points to a relationship to other Parrotts/Perritts from South Carolina. The family lore is that the founding members were 4 brothers who came from France to fight in the Revolutionary War. While the descendants from 2 of the brothers are reasonably identified, the fate of the other two remains unknown. However, John H's birthdate and DNA profile can be best explained if he was a son of one of the missing brothers. This information is provided to help others in their research on this family. Mrs. Annie Oakley Claimed by Death

Mrs. Annie Bell Oakley was born April 24, 1870 in White County, Arkansas, and passed away December 31, 1937 at 3:45p.m. at Hardy sanitarium in Ardmore.

She was united in marriage with J.M. Oakley in Arkansas, February 27, 1888. To this union was born seven sons and two daughters. In 1908 she moved with her family to Murray county near Davis, moving into Davis in 1916 and spent the remainder of her life here. She was converted and united with the First Christian church in 1915. She never changed her membership. She was preceded in death by one son, EM Oakley in 1927, and her husband in 1928. She is survived by the following children: Jack Oakley of Ardmore, Jim Oakley of Sulphur, Hubert, Bruce and Madie Oakley of Davis, Glen and Roy Oakley of Ada and Mrs. Troy Chronister of Los Angeles, Calif. also six brothers, JE and JT Pairet of Conway, Ark.; WM Pairet, Konowa, Okla; MO
and GR Strickland, Floydad, Texas, and Fred Blasingame of Kingston, Okla.; also 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The funeral was held at the family hom Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock with Reverends Ferguson and McClelland of Davis, and Rector of Ardmore officiating. Burial was in Green Hill cemetery with Hutchins and Sons in charge.

Mrs. Oakley's death came as a shock to her friends as she was ill but two days. Out of town relatives present were Fred Blasingame, Kingston; WM Pairet, Mrs. Ed Armstrong, Mr and Mrs. Charlie Pairet, Mrs. Frank Goodrich, and Mrs. Ross Fidler, all of Konowa, Okla.

Annie married James Marmaduke Oakely 21 Feb 1889 in Faulkner Co., Arkanasas. James was born 23 Aug 1866 in White Co., Arkansas and died 21 Sep 1928 in Davis, Murray Co., Oklahoma at age 62.

Found Dead in Bed

Our city was greatly shocked when it was learned that J. M. Oakley was found dead in bed last Friday morning. He had not been well since last March but of late had been feeling fine, and seemed in good health on
retiring Thursday night. When his wife started to wake him Friday moring she discovered that he was dead. His sudden death was attributed heart failure.

The funeral was held at the family residence in the north part of town Saturday afternoon and was largely attended. Rev. J. S. Ferguson conducted the service, which was followed by burial in Green Hill cemetery.

Mr. Oakley was born in White county, Ark., Aug. 23, 1866, making him 62 years of age at the time of his death. He moved his family to Davis in 1908 and spent the remainder of his life in and near Davis. For a number of years he was in business here, and after retiring from business, again took up farming. He was noted as an excellent farmer. He was a good man, had a wide acquaintance and lots of friends. The golden rule was his life's motto and he did his utmost to live up to it.

He is survived by his wife, six sons and two daughters, namely: Jack Oakley of Ardmore, Jas. Oakley of Coleman, Okla., Hubert, Bruce, Glenn and Roy Oakley of Davis, Mrs. Will Chronister of Corona, Calif., and Madie Oakley of Davis.

ARLINGTON - John Earl Parriette, a retired carpenter, died Sunday at an Irving care center. He was 81.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Guardian Funeral Home. Burial will be in Emerald Hills Memorial Park.

Mr. Parriette was born in Detonti, Ark., and had lived in Weatherford most of his life.

Survivors: Two sons, John Parriette of Arlington and James Parriette of Newark; daughter, Margaret Jean Yokee of Big Bear, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

After moving back to Farmville in 1950, she was a member of the Farmville Junior Women's Club and served as Virginia State Junior Vice President from 1962-64 and a member of the Farmville Baptist Church and served faithfully in various duties as a clerk, teller, deacon and
Sunday school teacher. Her hobbies included playing bridge, golf and cheering on the Hokies of Virginia Tech. She took great pride in her career as a wife and mother but also as a surrogate mother for many of her children's friends.

She is survived by four children, William Eugene "Gene" Watson, Larkin Louise Fields, Marie Maxey
Goodpasture and Margaret Ford Whitlock; brother, E.M. "Sonny" Pairet; brother-in-law, James "Max"
Watson; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Abner "Billy" Watson III.

Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17 at the Puckett Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 18 at 11 a.m. at the Farmville Baptist Church with
interment at the Westview Cemetery.

Lawrence married Clara Augusta Withrow 9 Jun 1926. Clara was born 12 Sep 1909 in Goshen Co., Virginia and died 14 Aug 2006 in Crozet Co., Virginia at age 96.

Born on Sept. 12, 1909 in Goshen, Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles William Withrow and Lyda May Morris Withrow. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Lawrence Edwin Pairet, Joseph Moyer
Elliott and O. Lee Harcum; six brothers, Grayson Herman, William Lyle, Leon Meade, Charles Clifford, William Clyde and John Alexander Withrow; two sisters, Vera Aldine Withrow Shelton and Lyda Mae Withrow Poulton; and one son, Lawrence Edwin Pairet, Jr.

Miss Polly loved the Lord and also loved to cook for her family and friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother, caring very deeply for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Robert Moyer Elliott of Blountville; two daughters-in-law, Vickie Hobson Elliott of Blountville and Marianne Robertson Pairet of Crozet; five sisters, Mary Frances Withrow Clendaniel of Harrogate, Alice Margaret Withrow Hampton of Goshen, Va., Betty Lee Withrow of Canton, Ga., Freda Jean Withrow Taylor of Mt. Solon, Va., and Susan Elizabeth Withrow Sams of Goshen, Va.; three grandchildren,
Pamela Pairet Wolf of Cary, N.C., Lawrence Edwin Pairet III of Crimora, Va., Valerie Pairet Seal of Crozet; and three great-grandchildren Charles Elliott Wolf of Cary, N.C., Kathryn Garland Wolf of Cary, N.C. and Hannah Paige Seal of Crozet; and one stepdaughter, Mary Hope Pearson of Portsmouth, Va.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel, Crozet, Va.

A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charlie C. Pairet, a former longtime Konawa resident, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001 at Brownsburg, Ind. at the age of 88.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Community Church with Rev. Drew Isaacs officiating.

Interment is to be at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home of Konawa.

He was born on Dec. 22, 1912 in Valania, Ark. to Georgia and William Monroe Pairet. Pairet was a plumber and pipe fitter and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of First Nazarene Church and Konawa American Legion.

Pairet is survived by his wife, Wyoma Pairet of Brownsburg; one daughter, Mildred Polly Williams of Brownsburg; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Freedman married Woody Mae Morrison 9 May 1941 in Hot Springs, Garland Co, Arkansas. Woody was born 29 Feb 1920 in Bismark, Hot Spring Co., Arkansas and died 6 Jun 2004 in Bentonville, Benton Co., Arkansas at age 84.

Woody Mae Pairett, age 84, formerly of Hot Springs, died June 6, 2004, at NW Medical Center in Bentonville. Woody was born February 29, 1920, at Bismark, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Henry Tillman Morrison and Winnie Parasada Morrison of Bismark. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Freedman Reo Pairett; her son, Michael Freedman Pairett; two brothers, Oma and Buddy Morrison; two sisters, Nell Grandfield and Madelyn Lillegaard.

Woody was a member of the First Baptist Church and Harmony Sunday School Class in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She also was a member of the Hot Springs Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.

Surviving are her daughter and husband, Nanci and David Green of Bentonville, Arkansas; her daughter-inlaw, JoAnne Pairett of Bentonville; one sister, Luby Patricia Cary of Dallas, Texas; and one brother, Paul
Pennington of Dallas, Texas. Woody had five grandchildren, Michael Pairett II of Hot Springs, Ricci Galyean of Rogers, Arkansas, Michel Hackworth of Clever, Missouri, and Michael and Paul Green of McKinney, Texas. Too, she had eight greatgrandchildren, Meghan and Morgan Green, Ty and Bret Galyean, Dylan Green, Michael III, Cheyenne and Jonathan Pairett; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at the Little Rock National Cemetery Wednesday, June 9, at 2:00 p.m. with John McCallum of Hot Springs First Baptist Church officiating.
