There is a group of Parrotts primarily located in central Florida. This family possibly originated in Georgia (records are conflicting)`and moved to Florida ca 1860. The patriarch died sometime after 1874, leaving a young family, and his name has not been found. Nevertheless, his descendants remain in Florida for the most part. The records are scanty, and the information varies from year to year for the same person. Based on a Y-DNA test, this family is part of the Richard group of Parrott families. William J(ohn), the founder, was almost certainly the son of John and Fatima Gibson Parrott of Georgia. For historical reasons, and to make it easier to identify this group's members, this file has not been integrated into the larger Richard file.
