This is the first of two Parrott famiiies who live in Stewart and Houston counties in Tennessee. This first group traces to a pair of brothers, Enoch and John, born ca 1797 and 1800, respectively, in North and South Carolina. Enoch is reported to be from North Carolina when he went AWOL from the army. More recently, the parents of Enoch and John have been identified as Daniel and Susan Lucinda Parrott. In turn, Daniel is thought to be the s/o of Thomas and Celia Parrott from the main Richard Parrott family. This family branch was assembled long before the connection was made to the main family, and is being kept as a separate file simply because the main family file is so large.

As families go, this one is very poorly reconstructed, and even more poorly documented, so use this information very carefully. Although more information is posted on line, it is undocumented and it frequently confuses this family with the other Parrott family in the same area.

Notes: Houston County inmate found hanged
Erin-- Houston County Jailers found a man incarcerated on probation violation charges hanged in his cell on Tuesday.

The inmate was identified as Frankie L. Parrott, 28, of Camden. Parrott was pronounced dead at Vanderbuilt University Medical Center after he was found about 3:50 p.m. hanging by a bedsheet from a light fixture in the cell. The body was discovered by a jailer bringing two prisoners back from the showers to their cell. The jailer reported Parrott's feed could have touched the ground, but apparently his knees were bent.

Chief Deputy Bill Richardson said that Parrott apparently attempted suicide through a drug overdose three weeks ago.

Parrott was convicted on Nov. 13, 1996, of aggravated assault and was sentenced to four years probation. He was charged with violation of probation for failing to report to a court officer; for failing to pay fees in May, June and July; and for failing to enter a drug rehabilitation program. The death is still being investigated by authorities.
