  • 67049. Descended from James Forrester Parrett, b ~1820's » John Calvin » Oscar Richard. His great granddaughter has provided the following information: "James Forrester was traveling by wagon train with his mother/siblings in 1832 in Overton Co (TN). He contracted measles so she 'left' him with a Miller family, so the story goes, where he stayed until he was 11/12 years old, at which time he has 'bought' by Geo. M. Thompson for 1.00 and lived with him until he became of age. His mother never returned for him... He did not know where he was born or who his parents were." His Civil War letters as Sergeant of the 28th Consolidated Infantry to his wife, Mahala Bowman Parrott, are posted. Webmaster's note: Based on DNA values, James Forrester appears to be descended from one of the Doss families of Virginia.

    Family D: Pierrots of little Bras D'or, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia

  • 67491. According to a family descendant, "There are only two known Pierrot's that are definitely documented- an individual named Peter or Pierre Pierro, and a woman of a similar age, possibly his sister, Cecile Pierro. On Peter's death certificate in 1869, it states that his parents names were Peter and Mary (probably Pierre and Marie) and that he was born in Little Bras D'or in 1791. A large Nova Scotia based family that currently goes by the surname Pero or Pearo are all documented descendants of Peter Pierro."

    The oldest known ancestor is George(S) Parrot, born in 1793. He emigrated from France in 1828 and settled in Stark County, Ohio. He was married to Ann Catherine Eagle (L'Aigle). They were in Ohio for a few years, where he and son Frederick worked on building? a canal, then settled permanently in and around Red Bud, Illinois [information from Sharon Egan].

  • 109639. Family originated out of Audincourt, France. The oldest known ancestor is the great-great-great-great grandfather (4 greats) of the person tested, Jean George Parrot (wife Catherine), born in 1797. A descendant, John Peter and his brother changed the last name to double T.

  • B150769. Charles Parrot, a Frenchman, was married to Rose Monnin, also French. One of their children was Charles Henri Parrot, born in Alsace, France, in 1875. He died in France in 1940. Charles Henri Parrot and his wife had several children, including Roger Henri Parrot, who journeyed to NYC in 1919 at 16 years old and took the surname de Roziere. Matches Jerome Parrrot, a non-project member.
